Meta has announced that it is testing a new feature on Instagram, finally allowing clickable links within regular post captions. This long-awaited feature for content creators comes with a clear condition: payment for the Meta Verified subscription.
Historical Context
Instagram has always restricted the use of links, limiting them to certain formats such as Stories, Reels, or profile bios. These restrictions have pushed content creators to rely on alternative solutions, most notably the "link in bio," to direct their audience to external content or websites.

How the New Feature Works
The new feature appears directly in the post creation interface. Before publishing, users will find an “Add Link” option alongside traditional features such as “Tag People,” “Add Location,” and “Add AI Mention.”
Users can enter the desired URL, which will then appear as a clickable link in the post caption, allowing followers to access external websites directly without having to go through the bio.
Currently, this feature is available to subscribers of Meta Verified, with users able to publish up to ten links per month through this system.
Subscriptions and Pricing
Meta offers four different Verified plans, starting with the Standard plan at $14.99 per month, up to the more comprehensive Max plan, which costs $499.99 per month.
Impact on Content Creators
While seemingly simple, this feature has significant implications for how content creators engage with their audience. Clickable links make it easier to drive followers to external platforms or content, potentially transforming digital marketing and content promotion strategies.
