iPhone Obsolete List: Is Your Device on It?

Apple has announced that the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 have officially moved to the "Obsolete" category, over seven years after their sales stopped. This classification means that official technical support and repairs at Apple Stores or authorized service providers are no longer available.

The difference between Vintage and Obsolete devices:

  • Vintage devices: Limited repair support is available as long as spare parts exist.
  • Obsolete devices: All official support and repair services are completely discontinued.

Other devices that have previously become obsolete include: iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and iPhone SE. Devices like the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are still classified as Vintage.

If you own any of these devices, it might be time to upgrade your iPhone to enjoy the latest iOS features and full support from Apple.
