Samsung Threatens to Delete Your Account: Log In or Lose Everything

Samsung will delete inactive user accounts by July 2025: Here’s what you need to know

Samsung has announced a massive cleanup campaign targeting inactive accounts, which may lead to permanent deletion of your account and data if you don’t log in before the end of July 2025.

📅 Deadline: July 31, 2025
Any Samsung account unused for 24 consecutive months will be subject to automatic deletion.

This includes accounts linked to services such as:
- Samsung Cloud
- Galaxy Store
- Samsung Health
- Find My Mobile

What happens if your account is deleted?
Permanent loss of all your personal data: photos, backups, purchases, files, and app history.

The account cannot be restored after deletion, even if your email or phone number is still active.

Deletion is complete and final with no “grace period” or “soft delete.”

Why is Samsung doing this?
- To improve data security and reduce risks related to abandoned accounts.

- To reduce server load and enhance Samsung services’ performance.

- To prepare for a major Galaxy device launch campaign in summer 2025.

How to keep your account safe?
- Action needed: Log in to your Samsung account before July 31, 2025 to refresh your account activity and avoid deletion.

- Review old accounts linked to old devices or unused apps.

- Ensure you don’t lose previous data or subscriptions.

- Make sure Samsung email notifications are enabled to receive alerts about your account.
